April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th April, 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. The lessons ignited her interest for songwriting. April's very first song was titled Different, which she wrote at the age of 12. At 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her music abilities. After that, she started taking excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY in New York and LA. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her friends dealing in the area of problems with peer pressure, and teenager suicide, as in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart has a partnership with top clean-skin brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with an increasing following of her own. Her disability is a part of her character, but it is not the whole image. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap in her Instagram profile however she doesn't place it in the spotlight of it. What message does it convey? We are all more than just our physical self. Our identities are complicated and encompass a variety of aspects. Lockhart declared in video form she didn't want to be defined solely by the condition she has. She doesn't want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are so many aspects to Lockhart. This doesn't influence my day-to-day routine. I conduct doing my job as normal and have come up with my own methods to adjust. Since it's part of my identity, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Lockhart who is an inspiration for self-acceptance generally has been on a long journey to achieve it. She has had periods where she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and displayed her arms. She wears what she likes and is proud to post pictures of herself in the outfits she wears on social media. This is a long journey. one thing I'm not aware of that you ever arrive in self-love. It's true for all regardless of level of insecurity. The people you surround yourself by who are truly yours and who can look into your heart, are the ones who will remind you why it's important.
